As the Obama administration continues to deal with criticism over the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs, senior White House officials met with privacy advocates and business groups yesterday to discuss government surveillance and consumer privacy regulation, The Hill reports. The Electronic Privacy and Information Center’s Marc Rotenberg said the meeting was the “beginning of an important dialogue about the challenge of protecting privacy in the 21^st century.” Sascha Meinrath of the New America Foundation said “many questions remain unanswered.”
