What Acxiom Can Teach the NSA About Transparency

For businesses working with massive amounts of data—particularly data brokers such as Acxiom—being transparent about data collection and use is an enormously difficult challenge. Helping consumers understand business practices in order to gain their trust, without giving away trade secrets or potentially compromising security, is another challenge. Likewise, the U.S. National Security Agency is facing a similar challenge of how to be transparent about its programs without compromising national security.
