Lawmakers are seeking answers from Target’s chief executive on the company’s response to its recent breach. Sens. John Rockefeller (D-WV) and Claire McCaskill (D-MO) have asked that the company’s information security officials brief committee staff on its latest internal findings. A Target spokeswoman said, “We have received the chairmen’s letter and are continuing to work with them and other elected officials to keep them informed and updated as our investigation continues.” The heads of the Senate Banking and Judiciary committees are also responding to the breach. Meanwhile, three states have begun investigating a breach at Neiman Marcus.
