Law professor and privacy expert Paul Ohm will join the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in August as a senior policy adviser on Internet and mobile markets, The Wall Street Journal reports. Ohm is a computer programmer, an expert in information privacy and has served as a federal computer crimes prosecutor. At the FTC, he will advise the commissioners and staff on policy and enforcement cases, the report states. "Paul's keen insights on how the law applies to technology and privacy issues will be invaluable to the FTC's work in these areas," said FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz.
