Massimiliano Pappalardo is founding partner of D&P – Legal Support for Ideas. He is a lawyer admitted to the Italian Bar in 1999 (Court of Appeal of Milan), with deep experience and expertise in intellectual property, new technologies and data protection law. In such areas of practice, Pappalardo advises on a regular basis in favor of national and international companies.
In addition, Pappalardo has 17 years of experience in litigation, particularly focused in the field of trademarks, designs and patents, unfair competition and consumers’ law. Likewise, he has considerable expertise in drafting and negotiating international commercial contracts, including IT contracts and license, distribution and franchising agreements. His daily practice also involves the implementation and localization in Italy of data protection projects related to several industries.
Pappalardo earned a master’s degree in new technology and computer sciences law (2001) and has a deep academic background in IT. He has been tutor at Insubria University (IT and computer sciences law). He frequently lectures on IP, IT and data protection matters; and he was invited to speak on the protection of the intangibles in the Luxury Management session of the International MBA, organized by MIP – Politecnico di Milano – School of Management. He contributed as well to the Master in Intellectual Property Law, organized by Il Sole 24 Ore business school. He frequently writes on the abovementioned issues for Italian and international newspapers and law journals, including Il Sole 24 Ore, Il Corriere delle Comunicazioni and Data Protection Law and Policy. He is author of the chapter related to the legal framework in Italy of the global handbook International Design Protection (Globe Business Publishing Ltd., 2012) and of other publications.
