Webcams are on nearly every laptop and smartphone these days. They are great for video conferencing but can be used for nefarious purposes as well. One such case involves a young adult who hacked into a number of computers to take photos of young women and then used such photos to blackmail them. Moreover, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission recently settled with security company TRENDnet because it allegedly used lax security in protecting its cameras from being hacked and exploited.
