IDG News Service reports that a group of state attorneys general will investigate a data breach of 200 million personal records involving a subsidiary of Experian. Connecticut AG George Jepsen and Illinois AG Lisa Madigan have both said they plan to initiate a probe into the incident. Court Ventures, which was purchased by Experian in 2012, was allegedly breached by Vietnamese national Hieu Minh Ngo, who ran a business that sold individuals’ personal information. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Times reports an additional 170,200 victims of a medical data theft incident have been identified. In February, eight computers—containing names, Social Security numbers and other billing and medical data—were stolen from Sutherland Healthcare Solutions. The total number of affected now stands at 338,700, the report states.
