McAfee Asia-Pacific Chief Technology Officer Sean Duca has said businesses should be “more open and candid” with employees and explore what tools and devices they prefer at work. Being candid, he said, can help prevent employees from circumventing protected corporate networks, thereby increasing risk. “As soon as you start to block (them), users will get savvy and see how they can get around it,” he added. According to McAfee-commissioned research, Australian and New Zealand employees ranked the highest—at 76 percent—for using at least one non-approved application, the report states.
