The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a New York man’s request to hold a data broker liable for illegally selling data taken from Department of Motor Vehicles records, Law360 reports. The records were sold to a stranger who allegedly tracked down Erik Gordon and harassed him. The court “refused to grant certiorari” to Gordon’s challenge to a Second Circuit ruling, which rejected his efforts to sue Softech International for the alleged privacy breach.
