Social networks are complicated and can expose sensitive details about your life,” reads the website for Safe Shepherd, a technology that “plugs the leaks” in users’ privacy online. The product promises to scan the Internet for personal information that has been made public or is being sold, remove unwanted information--that which violates privacy or is inaccurate--and alert users when their personal information appears on the Web.
