In his State of the Union address last night, President Barack Obama released a cybersecurity executive order outlining new policies aimed at thwarting attacks on American companies’ and government agencies’ online infrastructures, Forbes reports. “We know hackers steal people’s identities and infiltrate private e-mail. We know foreign countries and companies swipe our corporate secrets…We cannot look back years from now and wonder why we did nothing in the face of real threats to our security and our economy,” Obama said. The order requires government agencies to share data on cybersecurity threats with the public sector. Meanwhile, the controversial Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act is expected to be reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives today.
