Financial Times reports the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is beginning to crack down on companies not complying with cookie regulations. KPMG Partner Steve Bonner said, “There is still a wait-and-see element among companies. It is much like when you are speeding along the motorway with no police car in sight and everyone else is also driving 100 miles an hour. It doesn’t feel risky. But when the police car suddenly pulls out of the lay-by, it will be interesting to see what happens.” Noncompliant organizations may be liable for fines of up to £500,000.
