In response to Google’s agreement to pay the largest Federal Trade Commission (FTC) fine in history, FTC Chairman Jon Liebowitz said, “No matter how big or small, all companies must abide by FTC orders against them and keep their privacy promises to consumers, or they will end up paying many times what it would have cost to comply in the first place.” Within hours of the announcement, the FTC took to social media to answer questions from varying sides of the privacy debate.
