Carrier IQ is taking action to improve its reputation following a privacy glitch last year, reports The Washington Post. Computer programmers discovered that Carrier IQ software--used by many smartphone service providers--logged users' keystrokes and other personal information, prompting questions from regulators and advocates and a pending class-action lawsuit. The company recently announced that it has hired a new chief privacy officer and general counsel--Magnolia Mobley--and is aiming to instill a "culture of privacy," the report states.
