The New York Times reports on an Olympic hopeful who publicly posted the name and city of a man who sent her an obscene message on Facebook. More than 10,000 people have commented on her post, debating its legality. Despite Germany's strict privacy laws, "Something like this is new; we have not had an incident in this form before in Germany," said a spokesperson for a victims' rights organisation. A lawyer specialising in Internet law said legality will be determined by whether the man in fact sent her the harassing message to begin with.
