The security breach of Global Payments, Inc., reported last Friday, has affected 1.5 million card numbers, according to The New York Times. Hackers reportedly compromised Track 1 and Track 2 data--including names, card numbers and validation codes--but in a statement, the company said the breach was limited to Track 2 data and did not include Social Security numbers, addresses or cardholder names. The company said, "Based on the forensic analysis to date, networking monitoring and additional security measures, the company believes that this incident is contained."
