In a press release, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that is has extended the deadline for public comment on proposed changes to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule to December 23. Originally scheduled to end November 28, the FTC said it has lengthened the review period because organizations say the "nature and complexity of the questions and issues raised by the proposed amendments" require more time for review. The FTC's vote for the extension was unanimous. Meanwhile, the FTC has released the agenda for its workshop on facial recognition technology. "Face Facts: A Forum on Facial Recognition Technology" is free to the public and will be held at the FTC Conference Center on December 8.
