FCC managing director and former Microsoft executive Steven VanRoekel will be the next federal chief information officer, The New York Times reports. VanRoekel will replace Vivek Kundra, who has held the position since 2009 and is leaving to take a position at Harvard. VanRoekel says he plans to further the work that Kundra began.
