A debate in the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament revealed that the opposition party wants to change the Internet traffic retention period to six months, Telecompaper reports. At present, the data must be stored for one year. The amended law draft was sent to parliament in 2009, but some parties have concerns about the costs of implementing the new law, and others have questioned its necessity.
