Advocates: "Clear Control Needed" for Location Data

In the wake of reports about mobile devices tracking and sharing users' locations, the San Francisco Chronicle reports on calls from researchers and privacy advocates alike for users to have awareness of and control over such practices. "Consumers also deserve a clear and easy way to turn off location tracking," the report states. Meanwhile, Verizon has announced plans to put a warning sticker on its devices to let users know they can be used to track locations.
