Amendments to the French Data Protection Act went into effect on 31 March. The amendments bring the law into compliance with the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights. They include provisions to bring a greater separation of powers within the French data protection authority (CNIL) and specify certain terms the CNIL must follow when conducting onsite inspections.
