Anticipating difficulties in future data sharing agreements, including a crucial deal on passenger data for European airlines, "the EU wants to establish a data protection framework that would cover all future arrangements," the article states. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano believes "the sharing of passenger data can be very consistent with the protection of privacy."
