The GSMA has published Mobile Privacy Principles to help address concerns associated with the use of mobile technologies, Telecompaper reports. "Online privacy is an important and high-profile issue across the globe," said GSMA Chief Regulatory Officer Tom Phillips. The principles cover transparency, notice and data minimization, among other topics, and are expected to aid the creation of "more detailed guidelines and codes of conduct to address specific consumer concerns," according to a GSMA press release. Phillips described the principles as "a significant first step," but said addressing mobile privacy is an ongoing challenge that requires the support and collaboration of many.
