The case involved pharmaceutical and data-mining companies that are contesting a Vermont law prohibiting the sale of prescription information, such as which doctors prescribe what drugs to patients. "So far, the battle against these new 'prescription privacy' laws, which have passed in Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire, has produced mixed results," the report states, "so what the Supreme Court has to say will likely be decisive."
