ICO Responds to MoJ, Calls for Custodial Sentences

The response highlights key features the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) would expect to see in any revised framework and, the report states, points out that although the current data protection principles are sound, the law needs to provide more clarity for individuals and for businesses. The ICO also reiterated calls for increased powers of enforcement and the ability to impose jail sentences for severe offences.
