A group of nine Facebook users filed two class-action lawsuits against the social networking site, MediaPost reports. The suits allege that the company's new privacy settings are "confusing and materially deceptive," and that they expose users to identity fraud and other cybercrimes. A Facebook spokesperson said the changes were "well within the law." Meanwhile, on February 26 a federal judge in San Jose will consider the fairness of a provision in the proposed settlement agreement in the class-action suit over the company's Beacon advertising program, Wired reports. The settlement proposes that a Facebook employee would hold one of three seats on the board of the "Digital Trust Fund" to be established in the settlement.
