Lydia Parnes has joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Parnes joins the firm’s Washington, DC office after 28 years with the Federal Trade Commission, most recently as the FTC’s director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
“As one of the country’s foremost consumer-protection officials, Lydia brings unparalleled experience to the firm’s regulatory practice when it comes to privacy, security, and other consumer concerns,” said CEO John Roos.
In addition to other involvements, Parnes served as deputy executive director on the President’s Task Force on Identity Theft in 2006, coordinating the efforts of 17 federal agencies in developing a national strategic plan to combat ID theft in the public and private sectors.
