The Iowa Department of Human Services has announced a breach of personal information affecting approximately 2,042 individuals. Letters have been mailed to notify those affected after two workers used personal e-mail accounts, online storage accounts and personal electronic devices for work purposes over a five-year period beginning in 2008, CBS reports. Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating a breach at Johns Hopkins University after personal data on as many as 1,307 current and former students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering’s Design Team were stolen from a server, and a data breach at a statistic portal has affected some 50,000 customers’ e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords, eSecurity Planet reports.
