According to the Cabinet Office, most government department websites will not be in compliance with the new cookie laws by the 26 May deadline, reports ZDNet UK. A Cabinet Office spokesman told the BBC, "As in the private sector, where it is estimated that very few websites will be compliant by 26 May, so it is true of the government estate." In a statement, the Cabinet Office said the departments are “actively working to achieve compliance,” and Information Commissioner Christopher Graham has said his office will not be asking “'Who can we menace?' but, where we need to take regulatory action, the key thing is--well, what have you done?"
