Citing the decision by some users to post their locations in their social networking profiles as well as services that "exploit geolocation of IP addresses and the GPS built into our smartphones," the report warns of potential negative implications for individuals and businesses alike. "Perhaps once companies start losing work because their employees are leaking all sorts of potentially embarrassing information about their movements, meetings and opinions on clients," the report states, "we will see some serious pressure on the service providers to offer more nuanced and effective privacy controls."
