The personal banking information of 6,000 Ohio state employees, including the governor, was mistakenly sent in an e-mail to dozens of payroll officers at state agencies, the Columbus Dispatch reports. Gov. Ted Strickland's administration says the e-mail was a mistake, but not dangerous. "This was legally and technically not a data breach. The data did not leave the state firewall," a spokesman said. "It was sent to state employees who are authorized to have regular access to personal information, such as Social Security numbers and bank accounts." Two Ohio senators wrote to the Strickland administration about the breach, with one claiming that state employees are "cavalier with the personal information that has been entrusted to them."
