Future of notice
The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) is conducting research to find effective tools and methods for communicating with Web users about online behavioral advertising practices. FPF co-chair Chris Wolf says the goal is to provide groups involved in the practice with “additional guidance about the most effective ways to communicate with users.”
The FPF will collaborate with WPP Group researchers, creative experts, and others on the research. It hopes to complete the initial phase by summer’s end.
“It is my hope that this research will help educate the industry and government about more effective ways to communicate with users and remove any confusion consumers may have about data use,” said FTC Commissioner Pamela Jones Harbour.
