GAPP changes proposed
The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) have released an exposure draft of proposed changes to their Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP), reports the Journal of Accountancy. GAPP is a comprehensive global privacy framework that creates a basis for conducting a privacy self-assessment or audit. The changes include additional criteria on privacy risk assessments; privacy incident and breach management; privacy awareness and training; and personal information on portable media. The organizations welcome public comment on the draft until June 1.
