Laura Hamady is the senior corporate counsel on regulatory and international privacy affairs at Groupon. She is responsible for establishing Groupon’s global privacy program and handling all privacy-related projects and needs, including without limitation counseling on international product and corporate expansion as it relates to data collection, use and transfer.

Prior to joining Groupon in November 2010 as the company’s first in-house counsel, Hamady served as in-house counsel to Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Orbitz Worldwide and worked as an associate in the Privacy and IP Practice of a local Chicago firm.

Hamady earned her BA, cum laude, from Yale University, followed by her JD from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law. She is an avid long-distance cyclist, with a particular appetite for climbing Europe’s more notable ranges.
