Lael Bellamy is the chief privacy officer of The Weather Channel where she addresses privacy and data use throughout the organization, including working with stakeholders to embed privacy into the design of new products and services and overseeing the company’s privacy program with internal and external stakeholders.

Ms. Bellamy was formerly with ING Americas, The Home Depot and ChoicePoint (now LEXIS NEXIS) and holds degrees from Cornell University and Emory University School of Law. She is a past president of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) in Georgia and a past national chair of the ACC IT, Privacy & eCommerce Committee.

Ms. Bellamy is active in the community having served on Boards of the March of Dimes and MS Society in Georgia. She is a frequent speaker on privacy issues and serves on both the Board of Directors and the Educational Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
