Janice Schuck, CIPP/US

Chief Privacy Officer
Holy Cross Hospital 

Appointed by the President/CEO in 2005 as Chief Privacy Officer, Janice is responsible for the overall coordination and administrative oversight of compliance with HIPAA, state and federal privacy requirements and Holy Cross Hospital (HCH’s) Organizational Confidentiality requirements.   Janice helps develop and assure that the policies and procedures required by HIPAA are implemented in a timely manner; integrated with the activities of others, and then overseen for ongoing completeness, conformity and effectiveness.    She serves as the Chair of the HCH Privacy Council and assures that the responsibilities of this Council are fulfilled.   Janice earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in 2011 which focused on “Managing HIPAA” and has been with Holy Cross Hospital for more than 20 years.

In addition to responsibilities as Chief Privacy Officer, Janice is the Clinical Research Administrator for the Jim Moran Heart and Vascular Research Institute (JMHVRI) at HCH.  Currently Janice oversees the management of more than 20 cardiovascular research trials that provide the local community opportunities to improve their quality of life.
