Klaas Bruin Klaas Bruin is Corporate Privacy Officer at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. After a long career at KLM Cargo in various Sales and Marketing functions he made an internal switch to Information Security in 1999. At the moment the Dutch Data Protection Act (based on EU Directive 95/46/EC) was about to be implemented in 2001 he started the KLM Privacy Office. Klaas is a member of the Privacy Committee of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (known as VNO-NCW, the largest employers’ organisation in the Netherlands) and of the various privacy and passenger facilitation working parties of the Association of European Airlines (AEA) and International Air Transportation Association (IATA). Klaas can be frequently found in Brussels to lobby for the KLM, Airline and VNO-NCW interests at the European Commission and the European Parliament.
Klaas is associated member of the NGFG, the Dutch partner of the CEDPO.
