Mark Storts is assistant general counsel for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), a Certified FAIR Risk Analyst and a HIPAA Associate. For the past two years, Storts has served as a mediator for the Franklin County Municipal Court. He received his law degree from Capital University Law School in Columbus, OH.   

Storts works in Nationwide's Office of Privacy, Technology, Information and Contract Services, where he offers in-house legal counsel and strategy to those charged with overseeing enterprise-wide efforts related to information security and risk management, privacy policies, data governance and marketing. Storts provides guidance to the Nationwide family of companies on various rules, regulations, guidelines and legislation related to information security and consumer privacy. He frequently participates in industry trade associations that discuss privacy and information security laws. He also works closely with Nationwide's Information Technology Risk Management Department on issues such as risk assessments, data loss prevention and compliance governance. His specialties include GLBA, FCRA/FACTA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA/HITECH, state privacy laws, incident response and breach notification, privacy training, contract negotiation, legislative monitoring and enterprise data governance.
