Francis Cronjé, CIPP/US, CIPP/IT, founder of –§, is an information governance specialist advising multinational companies on data protection and regulatory compliance.

Cronjé serves as a technical advisor to the South African Parliament on proposed privacy (POPI) legislation and is the co-author and co-editor of Cyberlaw@SA. He is also an adjudicator and appeal panellist at the Wireless Application Service Providers’ Association (WASPA) and Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA).  

Cronjé holds BLC and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria and obtained an LLM degree (EU data protection and ICT law) from the University of Oslo’s Norwegian Research Centre for Computers and Law.
