Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts

Elizabeth became the first Chief Privacy Officer in Texas State Government when she joined the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Office in July of 2011.  Since that time, Elizabeth has become a member of the National Advisory Board of the Future of Privacy Forum, the Co-Chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ Austin Knowledgenet, and Advisory Board Member of the Texas CIO Academy.  Elizabeth also leads the Statewide Information Privacy Advisory Council that serves other privacy professionals working for various Texas government agencies.  She also serves an informal advisory role, focused on privacy issues, arising in projects created by the University of Texas Center for Identity Management.
