Michael Hintze is Microsoft’s chief privacy counsel. He joined Microsoft in 1998, and his practice includes a number of regulatory and public policy issues, focused on privacy worldwide.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Hintze was an associate with Steptoe & Johnson LLP, which he joined following a judicial clerkship on the Washington State Supreme Court. Hintze is a graduate of the University of Washington and the Columbia University School of Law. He is a regular speaker on data privacy issues, and has published articles on a range of subjects including privacy, U.S. export regulations and capital punishment.
