A privacy advocate, Sarah D. Morrow has over 12 years of industry and regulatory compliance experience, the last 4 specifically in higher education as chief privacy officer for the Pennsylvania State University. Simultaneously, she is also serving as the privacy consultant to the Smithsonian Institution.
Morrow has a BA in art history from Mills College, a paralegal certification from the University of San Diego School of Law, and MBA in information security management from Jones International University. She maintains designations as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and Global Information Security Professional (GISP). Morrow was a member of the IAPP’s Education Advisory Board from January 2009 through December 2011 and currently sits on the Certification Foundation Advisory Board.
She presented to audiences of the IAPP Privacy Academy in March 2009, EDUCAUSE Annual Conference in October 2011 and Internet 2’s In Common CAMP in both June of 2010 and 2011. She participated as a matter expert and track chair for the following sessions: Cloud Computing, Law and Policy and preconference sessions (2). She has also presented at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit, EDUCAUSE Security Conference and the Northern Ohio Information Security Summit.
