Jay Cline is a former chief privacy officer of Carlson Companies, IT management consultant at EDS and international trade-law expert in the U.S. government. Cline, a Certified Information Privacy Professional, has held leadership positions in the IAPP, is a privacy columnist for Computerworld and INSIDE 1to1: Privacy, and was the winner of the 2005 Barbara Wellbery Memorial Award for his proposal for an international Safe Harbor agreement. His work has appeared in several business publications, and he is a regular speaker on information risk management. In 2006, Cline founded the Twin Cities Privacy Network. In 2010, Minnesota Privacy Consultants was awarded the HP-IAPP Privacy Innovation Award for its privacy maturity model used for privacy assessments. In 2011, Cline was appointed to the IAPP faculty and is authorized to conduct corporate training in support of CIPP certification.
