Amy Sherwood, CIPP/US, CIPM
Vice President & Chief Operations Officer
In her role as vice president Amy Sherwood manages operations for the IAPP. As part of the leadership team she helps develop the IAPP strategy and ensures the functional rhythm of the organization. She is responsible oversight of the Events, Membership Publications and Certification Departments.
Today, Sherwood is focused on global services and the IAPP’s operational platform for its growth into the next decade.
Prior to joining the IAPP, Sherwood worked at the Markle Foundation in New York and Strawbery Banke Museum in New Hampshire.
Sherwood has a BS in communications from the Park School of Communications, Ithaca College, and a BA from the Culinary Institute of America. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) as well as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
Sherwood has been a big sister through Big Brothers, Big Sisters for over a decade; she volunteers for the New England Society Association Executives, is involved in local politics and serves as a Treasurer for the Greater Newburyport Families and Mother’s Club. She lives with her husband and son in Massachusetts.
