Washington, D.C. — November 17, 11:30am — 1:00pm,

San Francisco — November 19, 11:30am — 1:00pm

The KnowledgeNet meetings will offer an overview of the new Japanese privacy standards and a discussion of the various aspects of both Japanese and U.S. privacy law.  Informal dialog and networking will also take place over lunch.  The meetings are open to IAPP members and TRUSTe seal holders only.

"Among Asia's economic powers there is a growing awareness of the importance of consumer privacy and the value of privacy as a brand asset," said IAPP Executive Director Trevor Hughes.  "The delegation of representatives from the Japanese privacy community is here to discuss the differences between our various privacy laws and to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of how the two nations approach the issue of consumer privacy."

Japanese delegates represent a broad range of companies and industries, including wireless giant Docomo, financial services icon Softbank, and holding company Nomura.
