Award Criteria

The IAPP Privacy Vanguard Award is given each year to the individual professional who best demonstrates outstanding leadership, knowledge and creativity in the field of privacy and data protection, whether through spearheading projects or programs that positively impact the privacy profession or through achievements over the course of an entire tenure or career.

Judging

All submitted nominees are reviewed and a winner is selected by the executive committee of the board of directors of the IAPP. The award winner is then notified privately by the IAPP. This information remains confidential until the award ceremony.

Throughout the judging process, the award candidates, nominating parties, authors of support letters and other individuals relating to the nomination of the candidate may be contacted directly by the IAPP for the purpose of verifying information or obtaining additional information relating to the candidate.
